Our meetings

Our club meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of every month. Very occasionally this is changed to allow for public holidays, room availability etc. The calendar below shows up-to-date information.

We meet upstairs at The Newmarket Hotel, which is located on the corner of Gardeners and Botany Roads in Mascot NSW. Parking is available undercover in the Club members parking, behind the hotel along Tramway Street, and on the northbound side of Botany Road. Sometimes parking is limited, so be sure to allow plenty of time to find a spot.

Our meetings start at 7pm. We encourage members and guests to arrive at 6.45pm, to allow us to get settled before the meeting starts.

Meetings finish at 9.15pm, with some of our members staying afterwards to enjoy a drink or late dinner together in the bistro downstairs.

A typical agenda

During club meetings, members practice giving prepared speeches as well as brief impromptu presentations, known as Table Topics. There are opportunities throughout the meetings for visitors and guests to contribute if they feel comfortable, or you are welcome to simply observe.

Constructive evaluation is central to the Toastmasters philosophy. Each time members give a speech, an evaluator will point out strengths as well as suggest improvements. Receiving (and giving) such feedback is a great learning experience. In Toastmasters, encouragement and improvement go hand-in-hand.

We encourage members to progress at their own pace to experience the full range of benefits of being a Toastmasters member.
