What a quintessential meeting ably led by our Chairman for the evening, Donald Zhang. Opened on time by Sergeant-at-arms Raja Dhanapal and kept on time by the venerable John Drake as timer, the meeting flowed smoothly. The Mission was read by Bram Herulah whilst Caitlin Manoharan provided us with a croaky salute to the theme of “Spring has sprung” . Eva Rabanal kept us entertained with a toast and Aaron Ross led the Table Topics session, which was then evaluated by Margrit Fisher and Judy Mugonya. This was all followed by an educational on humerus, I mean humorous speeches by David Fisher. Mike Fatouris provided a classic example on how to conduct a humorous speech. To wrap up the first half, Sussana Chan provided a masterful general evaluation.
The second half was as scintillating as the first. Carlos Garcia was our Speech Toastmaster, leading Ricardo De Oliveira on his travels to Kathmandu; Bella Wang spoke about leadership vs management, and; Phillip Agripanidis yearned for the great 1980’s entertainment. These speeches were evaluated by Victor Hou, Mike Fatouris and Michael Fatouris respectively. Bram Herulah asked some tricky questions as listening post, Robin Huang was grammarian and Rati Jain gave us an ums and ahs report. This was all wrapped up by Heidi Heron with an evaluation. Meanwhile Sussana Chan provided Club Business where she inducted Ramesh Shanmugam as our newest member.
