9th October meeting

Raindrops on roses
And whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woollen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favourite things

If you didn’t sing that to yourself, it was probably because you weren’t at our fantastic meeting last night which had lots of razzmatazz!

What a great night it was. Superbly opened and with the mission read by Caitlin Manoharan and with Aaron Ross as Chairman, it promised to be a good night and it didn’t fail to deliver. Phillip Agripanidis led us through the theme which was “Favourite things”, (hence the lyrics). Bella Wang proposed a toast to mental health week.

Margrit Fisher ably led the Table Topics session, with Carlos Garcia and Phillip Agripanidis as evaluators. This was wrapped up by David Fisher as general evaluator.

Sussana Chan followed with Club Business where some members were recognised. Robin Huang and Carlos Garcia were awarded their level 2 pathways badges. Michael Fatouris and Ramesh Shanmugan were awarded their pathways icebreaker speech ribbons. Caitlin Manoharan was also provided with her Humorous speech contest trophies

The second half went straight into the prepared speeches, MC’d by Robin Huang. Ramesh had a speech on concentration and Michael presented a humorous speech on connection (and how to cook dinosaurs!). Damien Lake told us of his year of yes and Bram Herulah told us of a scary experience, as a parent.

The speeches were evaluated by Sussana Chan, Victor Hou Ursula Nirmala Herulah and Bella Wang, with Donald Zhang also evaluating Sussana Chan’s evaluation.

Susan Nguyen was our timer and Rati Jain came up with the fantastic word “Razzmatazz” as grammarian. Caitlin Manoharan delivered a listening post/big ears role with Bella Wang as ums and ahs counter. The second half was rounded by Margrit Fishert delivering an excellent general evaluation and our six guests providing wonderful feedback on their experiences on the night.
