A fantastic meeting was had on Wednesday night, with the theme “Think on your feet”. This meeting was ably chaired by Heidi Heron and the theme was saluted to by Susan Nguyen. An educational session on Table Topics was presented by Margrit Fisher and a Table Topics frenzy was conducted by Victor Victor Hou with 12 impromptu speeches. There were some fantastic evaluations in the first half by David Fisher, Phillip Agripanidis, Sussana Chan, Sammy Rehim and Aaron Ross.
The prepared speeches in the second half started with John Drake presenting his parrot Mango to the audience and Damien Lake doing his icebreaker (and being presented his icebreaker ribbon by Bella Wang as Toastmaster) speech on “everything you need to know to be a real estate expert”. This was followed by a quick history of post-war Chinese politics by Warren Su. Once again evaluations were provided, this time by David Fisher, Donald Zhang, Judy Mugonya and Aaron Ross.
Raja Dhanapal did his usual great role as Sergeant-at-Arms, getting the meeting on track for both sessions. Caitlin Manoharan presented the Grammarian and um/ah counter roles, Eva Rabanal was the listening post and Bram Herulah provided the Toast with Aaron Ross being Timer.
Sussana Chan did the Club Business where she presented a Level 2 Pathways name badge to Heidi Heron, who in turn presented one to Donald Zhang for completing his level 2. Sussana Chan also presented Susan Nguyen with her icebreaker ribbon and Caitlin Manoharan with her membership certificate
What a great night and I am looking forward to the next one. I wonder what it will hold….?
