Our Speech Spectacular was amazing and everyone was ‘delighted’ to hear the speeches. The meeting was opened by Caitlin Manoharan in a blizzard of excitement in her first meeting for some time. Successfully being Chairman for the first time was Rati Jain. New member Eugene Vass read the Club Mission before Rati Jain led the salute to the theme of ‘Leap Year’. Sammy Rehim led the toast
David Fisher was Toastmaster for the first half. Caitlin Manoharan had a speech on being hangry (hungry and angry). Bram Herulah spoke about 3 wise men and leadership styles. Victor Hou warned us of accountant character traits, while Carlos Garcia gave us part one of his national project he is involved with.
These speeches were evaluated by MJ Velasco, Damien Lake, Margrit Fisher and Heidi Heron. Aaron Ross also evaluated Damien Lake‘s evaluation so he could have feedback on how he went. Sussana Chan led Club Business where new member Eugene Vass was inducted just prior to the break.
Caitlin Manoharan got the second half away with a flourish. Margrit Fisher led the second half of the speeches. Speakers were George Pajmakoski speaking of commitments, Ramesh Kumar Shanmugam spoke on how to generate energy while MJ Velasco educated us all about scrum (not the rugby type) leadership.
Evaluators were Carlos Garcia, Caitlin Manoharan and Sammy Rehim. Aaron Ross again evaluated Caitlin Manoharan. Ramesh Shanmugam went through his listening post role while George Pajmakoski was Grammarian and um and err counter.
Heidi Heron explained the timer role and how our timings are important. Area 24 Director, Phillip Agripanidis arrived and squeezed in an address before Sussana Chan wrapped it all up with a general evaluation. The meeting was closed on a high with thoughts from our many guests.
