“We can be heroes, just for one day,” said David Bowie and we were that last night with our theme of Superheroes. With over 20 zoom cameras in action, it was an eventful night. The meeting was started promptly by our Sergeant-at-Arms, Caitlin Manoharan and our Chairman for the night was Donald Zhang.
Bram Herulah read the Club mission and Phillip Agripanidis led the salute to the theme. Our Timer was Eugene Vass and Aaron Ross was the Grammarian. The Toast was led by Mike Fatouris.
We had a book review on ‘The subtle art of not giving a f*ck‘ by Damien Lake (The review, not the book was by Damien Lake!). Our Table Topicsmaster was Bella Wang and the speakers were evaluated by Sussana Chan. MJ Velasco provided a general evaluation for the first half.
Sussana Chan spoke about Club Business and the upcoming elections, with Caitlin Manoharan and MJ Velasco speaking of their roles.
The meeting was recalled by Caitlin Manoharan who was also our Toastmaster. Ramesh Shanmugam gave a speech about cold showers, David Fisher had us all humming along to Earworms of his life and Sammy Rehim persuaded us to take the quitting sugar challenge.
The evaluators were Carlos Garcia, George Pajmakoski and Aaron Ross, with Margrit Fisher also evaluating George’s evaluation
Listening post was Bram Herulah, with Mario Salas as Ums and Errs counter. Eugene Vass provided the Timer’s report and Aaron Ross supplied the Grammarian report. This was all wrapped up with a nice general evaluation by Heidi Heron. Technical support for the meeting was ably led by Victor Hou
Now we can look forward to our mini meeting on 29th April, the fifth Wednesday which we don’t normally meet on. I for one can’t wait. Until then, stay safe, stay inside and wash your hands at every opportunity.
