It was a nice autumnal evening as we had our first ever mini-speakathon on Wednesday night. This provided an opportunity for members to not only pop out extra speeches to help them achieve their goals but also gave a moment to forget about the isolation we have all been facing.
The meeting was opened by Caitlin Manoharan as Sergeant-at-Arms. David Fisher was our Chairman for the evening. Sammy Rehim led the toast and Sussana Chan introduced the Timer role, before David Fisher came back as the Toastmaster for the evening
George Pajmakoski gave a speech on his leadership style. Caitlin Manoharan told us of Produce, Protein and Covid-19. Bella Wang informed us of the importance of mentoring. Phillip Agripanidis gave an in-depth analysis of coronavirus conspiracies. Aaron Ross told a folk tale of the indigenous history of the Three Sisters.
Heidi Heron practiced her International Speech Contest speech all about Belief Busting
These were evaluated by Carlos Garcia, Margrit Fisher, Rati Jain, Sammy Rehim and Victor Siyu Hou. Heidi’s speech had a feedback session on how to improve and make sure Heidi Heron is victorious at the Lachlan Division Contest. This was facilitated by David Fisher with fantastic input from many members
Sussana Chan came back with the Timer’s report and all speakers did quite well. Caitlin Manoharan took the obligatory screenshot for posterity. The positive response from the evening’s format means we may look at doing this again in the future
