Wednesday 9th August was our Humorous Speech and Table Topics Contest Meeting. It was a great night enjoyed by all present and was not to be missed!
The Table Topic Question “Our House is our Castle” was well handled by all contestants – Aaron Ross, Judy Mugonya, Rachel Segal and Ursula Nirmala Herulah. It was wonderful to see this mix of experienced and newer members taking on the challenge and lapping it up! Our winner was Aaron Ross, with a well balanced and expressive presentation, with Rachel Segal in second place. Congratulations Aaron Ross!
There was a certain theme which seemed to be part and parcel of all our three Humorous Speeches – to find this out one could attend our next meeting 😊 . It seems that Aaron Ross, Iqbal Singh and Phillip Agripanidis must have got together before the contest and compared notes! 😊 It provided some very entertaining and interesting plots for us! Aaron Ross prevailed again and is therefore our double champion, representing us in both contests at the Area 24 Contest on 31st August. Go Aaron Ross!
The contests were ably chaired by Margrit Fisher, with Chief Judge being our Area 24 Director Dave Egan. Contest Toastmasters were Giuseppe Toscan (President of Skyline Speakers TM) for Table Topics and Rachel Segal for the Humorous Speech Contest. A night to remember!
