A quick wrap up of last week’s meeting (14 June 2017)..
With the theme of ‘winter’ at Wednesday’s meeting, we had a warm and inviting room, with a few guests in attendance too. Table topics were set to the winter theme, thanks to Victor, giving us a chance to practice our speaking skills and share our differing opinions on cold weather!
The agenda included a delightful mix of prepared speeches, including a technical presentation by David – cleverly and seamlessly using internet-based demonstrations live in his speech. We learnt about brave animals who served in war time (thanks Michael), and how being attached to our phone screens is truly bad for our backs (thanks for the education Margrit).
We welcomed new members Joao and Sussana, and also congratulated Ursula on reaching the “five speech” milestone. Well done Ursula.
Our next meeting is this Wednesday 28 June – visitors are welcome. Simply get in touch and let us know so we can expect you.
Also, we have a special ‘committee changeover’ meeting on Wednesday 5 July, where we celebrate the outgoing committee’s achievements and welcome the new executive. Guests are welcome – please RSVP in advance for this meeting as there are special dinner arrangements being made.
