Our meeting last week, #106.
The meeting was opened by our Sergeant-at-Arms Steven about the benefits of visualisation, and the grammarian’s challenge to us was to not use the word “very” during the meeting. I’ll do my best not to use it in this post!
Our club elections were smoothly run by Area Director Mia Cong, and the new committee members for 2017-18 are:
- President – Margrit Fisher DTM
- VP Education – Aaron Ross CC
- VP Membership – Belinda Griffiths CC
- VP Public Relations – Dilara Ozdemir
- Secretary – Utku Ozdemir
- Treasurer – Rufina Silveira CC
- Sergeant-at-Arms – Steven Katona
Our incoming president Margrit addressed the club, as did our outgoing Area Director Mia.
Prepared speeches included a wonderful icebreaker from Judy, a hilarious account of lessons learnt from swimming by Ursula, and a brilliantly dramatic speech by Aaron on Cyclone Tracy.
Our next meeting will be, as per normal, held on Wednesday 14 June 2017 (2nd Wednesday of the month), which will mean a longer-than-usual break due to May having five Wednesdays.
