Our first night back and it seems like we have been practising during the break. Our cheeks were hurting following all the laughter we had endured. The quality was excellent and the roles were fulfilled magnificently. Can’t ask for anything more from the first meeting back for 2020.
Sussana Chan was the Chairman for the meeting which was opened by Donald Zhang. Mike Fatouris read the mission while George Pajmakoski led a very appropriate salute. Mike Fatouris backed up and did the introduction to the timer while Carlos Garcia introduced the grammarian role. Heidi Heron led a magnificent toast to 2020.
Ramesh Kumar Shanmugam led a well organised and lengthy Table Topics session. These were evaluated by Phillip Agripanidis and Robin Huang. David Fisher provided a general evaluation for the first half. This was followed by a wedding speech by a visiting Toastmaster and Club business led by Sussana Chan. Heidi Heron presented Bram Herulah with his level 1 Pathways certificate. Way to go Bram Herulah!
The second half was opened by Carlos Garcia and Bram Herulah led the prepared speeches. First up was Robin Huang and how technology can help with dialysis. Sammy Rehim told us how he overcame diversity with exercise while Phillip Agripanidis enthralled and entertained with praising Margrit Fisher and David Fisher. These speeches were evaluated in turn by Donald Zhang, Heidi Heron and Aaron Ross.
Reports were completed by George Pajmakoski for Listening Post/Big Ears, Carlos Garcia for grammarian, Sammy Rehim for ums and ahs, and Mike Fatouris for timer. This was all wrapped up with an in-depth general evaluation by Margrit Fisher
