It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Last night’s meeting saw yet another full room! We had four guests, one of which was the object of the meaningful toast made by Francis – to his wife for her birthday. A lovely sentiment.

Area Director Mia Cong attended and delivered a fantastic educational on “keeping the commitment”, with a reminder of the Toastmasters promise and a great quote – “Motivation is what gets you going, commitment is what keeps you going!”

President David Fisher presented Tahseen with his “Five speeches” award (see smiley picture below), and reminded us of the District conference on this weekend in Bateman’s Bay.

I had the privilege of being Toastmaster for five prepared speeches with topics that were right up my alley! Treasurer Aaron’s informative speech on where our Toastmasters fees go; Iqbal’s timely reminder for road safety during the festive season; Julian’s speech on the importance of being organised (with a safety-related camping story); Tahseen’s speech on Christmas gifts and in particular the dangers of some of them!; followed by Warren sharing with us the story of mooncake – a sweet ending to the night’s speaking program.

See you all at our next meeting, THE CHRISTMAS MEETING on Wednesday 14 December!! Can you tell I’m excited? Cost for members is $25 and guests $38 which includes meals chosen from a select menu. Please submit your payment into the club’s account by 8th December – and don’t forget to bring a $5 value wrapped gift for our secret santa game! Any questions, get in touch. We look forward to hearing from you.

See you there
Belinda
