Meeting #175

Our meeting was opened by Caitlin Manoharan as Sergeant at Arms, also doubling as tonight’s technical support. Victor Houwas our Chairman for the very first time and did a tremendous job. Bram Herulah read the Club Mission and Bella Wang saluted the theme and led the introductions. The theme tonight was “Don’t sweat the small stuff” and we all reported on our little gripes and niggles that we could do without.
The Timer was Heidi Heron and the Grammarian was Ramesh Shanmugam. Mario Salas
provided an excellent Toast. Margrit Fisher filled in for George Pajmakoski as Table Topics Master. Sammy Rehim was our Table Topics evaluator.
Sussana Chan wrapped up the first half with Club Business, (assisted by Heidi Heron
who announced some fantastic educational achievements to some members), and a general evaluation of the first half
Caitlin Manoharan got us going again in the second half. Eugene Vass provided his Point of View, while Aaron Ross presented an educational segment on Moments of Truth.
Heidi Heron assisted with the polling of the responses for the educational.
The Toastmaster for the prepared speeches was Mike Fatouris. Our first speaker was
Carlos Garcia with his speech on volunteering as part of his project management and
Phillip Agripanidis interviewed Caitlin Manoharan on her role as a food technologist. These speeches were evaluated by Damien Lake and Donald Zhang.
Ramesh Shanmugam reported on his Grammarian role and ums and ahs, Heidi Heron
gave us a timer’s report while David Fisher provided a general evaluation of he second half. Final comments were given by all, with a lengthy meeting impression by our Canadian guest, Shelly. All in all, a great night, albeit with some technical difficulties with the polling which were overcome.
