“‘Ctrl + Alt + Delete’ not only implies ‘existing complication’, but also ‘another resumption’ “
With the word of the day “Prodigious” provided by our grammarian Sussana Chan, another remarkable meeting started. Damien Lake was our sergeant-at-arms and used his clear and attractive voice to announce the start of our meeting and read the club mission. Ramesh Shanmugam saluted to the theme and led the introduction, where people shared their feelings during the past months and hope for a better future. Victor gave a toast to everyone who contributed to the battle against COVID. Eugene Vass was the host for Table Topic session which echoed the theme by providing questions relating to both our past and future. The speakers were evaluated by Damian Lake and Mike Fatorious. Thanks to the educational “Understanding the grammarian role” session let by David Fisher, we understood what we could do for this role and how we can enjoy it.
The second half of the meeting was always the main session of the night. Our Toastmaster was Philip Agripanidis. Congratulations to Kevin Murphy who introduced his existing but no longer reachable hometown in his Icebreaker speech. Robin Huang talked about his leadership style and his humorous idea about an ideal life. Heidi Heron shared one of her future projects and everyone helped her find out potential disruptions for the plan. The speeches were evaluated by George Pajmakoski, David Fisher and Sammy Rehim respectively.
To help the meeting run smoothly, we always have our quality controller paying attention during the night. The merit went to our listening post – David Fisher, Grammarian – Sussana Chan, Ums & Urrs – Ramesh Shanmugam and Timer – Heidi Heron. Victor Hou was the general evaluator for the first half and Margrit Fisher gave feedback for the second. In summary, this is another prodigious meeting and we look forward to having more fun in the new year.
