Meeting #178 – “A Winter’s Tale”

The meeting was chaired by Phillip Agrapanidis with “A Winter’s Tale” as the theme and “Voracious” as the word of today. After Damien Lake announcing the meeting open, we were surprised to find there were 6 guests in the meeting and 2 of them even came from overseas. The club mission was read by Carlos Garcia and David Fisher led the club to salute to the theme with the question about learning about ourselves and humanity. Kevin Murphy delivered the toast to children’s authors by explaining how the books can benefit kids. Aaron Ross did a mini-education about why we “read the club mission” and how it could benefit each member. The Table Topic Master was Carlos Garcia who gave the questions about winter and the speeches were evaluated by Sammy Rehim and Margrit Fisher. Caitlin Manoharan then discussed our club business and the first half of the meeting was evaluated by Aaron Ross.

Caitlin Manoharan was our Toastmaster for today. Eugene Vass has discussed “how to change one’s habit by using drinking coffee as an example”. Mario Salas shared his Super Saturday with a warm and heartful story. Mike Fatouris talked about “how powerful a simple word can be”. The voracious speeches were evaluated by Margrit Fisher, Ramesh Shanmugam and Ricardo de Oliveria. Ramesh and Ricardo were doing the evaluation under their pathway program and their speech was evaluated by Victor Hou and David Fisher.

Today’s Grammarian was Caitlin Manoharan, and Carlos Garcia and Damian Lake were our Ums and Urrs counter and Timer respectively. We had division director Deb Murphy took over the general evaluation task on the 2nd half and did her address to the club.

What a fantastic meeting! Hope to see you again on the speakathon.
