What a great night to have such a big meeting. We were excited to have 4 new members joining the club: Martha Mok, Anju Rai, Donald Lal and Nimal Kumar. Welcome to the family of Sydney Speakers.
The meeting was opened by Damian Lake and Chaired by David Fisher. Donald Lal read the club mission with his own expectation for the new journey inside Sydney Speakers. Mario Salas introduced members with everyone sharing their own secret to success. The toast was led by Robin Huang and then Heidi Heron delivered the educations session for evaluation.
Then comes our most fascinating section of the night. George Pajmakoski was the table topic master and gave questions related to personal stories. Ricardo de Oliveira and Victor Siyu Hou were the evaluators for all 6 speakers. Margrit Fisher was the general evaluator and Heidi Heron announced the club business.
The second half of the meeting was always the main stage of the night. Rati Jain shared her idea of a mentor and protégé, and the benefit of being a mentee. Bella Wang reminded us of the on-going climate change and its aftermath. Carlos Garcia shared his lessons learned from the past and how it is applied at present for the future. The evaluation was finished by Ramesh Kumar Shanmugam, Eugene and Damian. Eugene was having his evaluation task in pathways and his speech was evaluated by Sussana Chan.
We will also thank Martha Mok who paid attention to everyone’s usage of grammar, Robin who helped members with avoiding gap-filling words, and Kevin Murphy who kept our meeting on time. Heidi Heron was the general evaluator for the 2nd half and the tech support for the meeting.
